Dear Members, I love this forum as I get to ask questions I always wondered about and now I get answers from all over the English speaking world. So fine...I thank our Frank B, founder, for this opportunity. Question had anyone ever dreamed of themselves performing at the piano? I have played about 45 years and I never have ...that I remembered the dream. Only once I woke up arranging God Bless America on sheet music, for improv, left hand only. I would love to dream of myself at the piano performing... Just for fun really...Wonder why not so far? Input? Wonder if it is because I satisfy the desire to play piano? Input? Sandy B

Not so long ago I dreamed I was playing the piano, the most divine music ever heard. I played exquisitely and it was heavenly. I felt so utterly complete and joyful. I didn't want the music to ever end.
I woke up and realised I had left the television on. They were playing Chopin's 1st piano concerto on the weather map. So much for dreams.

Arabesque...Thanks for sharing...Funny and I am still laughing. I have a friend who is a retired Lt. Col and was a fighter pilot during his career. I asked him if he ever dreamed of flying a jet in his dream now he is retired, his answer,"Often I do dream of flying still, but, always without clothes on..." This must have some deep meaning? I would guess he felt free when he was flying a plane, except when in combat? Sandy B

This is interesting. A week ago, I dreamed that I was playing the piano joined by four other people at two other pianos. Three pianos in total! And we played a mixture of classical, contemporary, and other music to invoke laughter in the audience (similar to the YouTube video entitled "Tim and Theresa" which I am still laughing at ) I consider that an ultimate joy! - Mark

I never, ever dream anything about the piano, which is strange, considering our piano is literally going all day long, amongst the six of us.

I have sometimes dreamed I was playing the piano - but unlike some (see this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil\'s_Trill_sonata about Tartini) - I seem to dream within my normal playing range... unfortunately....

Dreams are all in the mind, they say.I never remember them either.Indeed I was told you shouldn't remember them. But I do remember they are frustrating, maybe that's what they are; over active brain cells that are still on the cooling process.
Come on folks reality is the affirmative and the positive, surely?

Freud thought it was important to remember them.. but anyway we typically spend 1/3 of our lives asleep.. surely we should look for something more than oblivion between drifting off and.. we hope.. waking up:-)

Hello Larry. Sounds much fun... your dreams. I only recall one piano dream. Does anyone know of a way to dream what we want to dream on purpose? Such as piano, arranging, composing, working out fake sheets? To do some work at the piano in our dreams that we remember? To remember is the hard part? That would be great. Dream on Larry and wish I could also have fun piano dreams or productive piano dreams... both would be a blessing. QVC on TV has the roll out keyboard. Seriously. Sandy B
