Sat down to try and pick out the song September by Earth Wind and Fire and it was more difficult than I anticipated. I have the melody all through and pretty much am convinced it is in F#minor. In listening I am having a hard time ignoring the rest of the tune to concentrate on the Bass which would really clue me in to the chords. I haven't yet downloaded a transcribing software to make transcribing any easier.

Dmaj7 is 2 8th notes..C#m7 is on the and of 2... F#m7 is on the and of 3...C#m7 of the next bar is pushed-the and of 4....F#m7 is the and of 2.

on the chorus each chord (Bm9-E7/C#m7-F#m7) gets 2 beats apiece.

The girl on the video is playing her own changes...not the original.

thanks daveferris, I had got to using something similar with my beating at it. That final G chord I would not have gotten on my and I had found a guitar site that had G69 put me onto that. I am getting it slowly but surely.
