I work for a small professional dinner theatre, and we need a pianist. Where is the best place to look/post job listings for musicians looking for regular (as opposed to gig) work?

I don't think it would hurt to visit local music stores in your town. Many of the ones I visit have a bulletin boards that you could put a flier advertising the opportunity you have to offer. Another thought might be to visit local music studios (where they give piano lessons) and talk to some of the teachers there. I'm sure they know other pianists. Who knows, its worth a try.

Or perhaps discretely mention the town you're in. Maybe there's somebody right here.

Geez, you're not far from Bloomington and I'm sure you'd find tons of pianists there....they probably could sightread most of the music.I know they have bulletin boards in the school of music otherwise maybe you could call and get someone to post for you.

Yeah, you'd think that, wouldn't you? But no, despite posting there, we've only gotten one response from Bloomington, and he backed out when he found he'd have to actually leave town for the gig.

And as for Tom in the UK, we actually have the means to offer accomodation, although I don't know about the trip over! (It would be fantastic, though!)

have you tried the local musician's union? usually a good resource.

Well, if you want nothing but new age music badly played, I'm your gal. And I'll even drive to Indy.

Seriously, I'm baffled you're not overwhelmed with prospective musicians.
