I have an older student that wants to learn this version of Minnie the Moocher: http://youtube.com/watch?v=BWnB0hQWGdI ...on an episode of Jeeves and Wooster. Should I (and he) try and study the arrangement and do the best we can at copying it? Or do you know of any music? Thanks in advance for any advice on how to learn this piece!

Does your student want to accompany himself and sing (as in the video)? If so the chords and style are fairly easy to imitate from watching the video. If he wants to do it as a piano solo, a different arrangment is needed that carries the melody in the right hand part.
I would first look for at least a fake book version of it.

Thanks,
I have the "Real Book" of standards, it's not in there, I will look at other fake books.
Thanks for the replies!

You can find it in the "Just Jazz Real Book" - Warner Bros. By the way, here's a great fake book search tool: www.seventhstring.co.uk/fbindex.html

Pinaobuff, if you know or work out that ostinato accompaniment pattern Laurie uses, can you post it here? I'd like to try it out as well, looks pretty simple but I can't see his fingering.
