Did anyone else see Sir Elton in Mineapolis on April 29th?

What an awesome show! No matter what else you say about him, the guy can flat out jam, a true prodigy and living legend.

The show itself was not very elaborate and he had just his base band with him along with 8 backup singers off his new album, good lighting but nothing fancy. Davey Johnston was dressed in jeans, Elton had on his trademark cape wrap deal, but very toned down.

And they blew the top off of Target Center, Elton had 19,000 people screaming on thier feet.

Elton did a long, slow, and VERY LOUD version of Rocket Man, in the chorus changing from B flat to E flat, the bass was so low and loud, the seats shook. Major cool.

If you get a chance to see him someplace, do it. Watching Elton jam on his 9 foot Yamaha is a once in a lifetime.

Elton is an icon. Wish I could have been there. Simple set design is getting more popular with artists who can actually PLAY and actually SING. I saw Prince last year at Staple's Center in LA, and the set was very basic. The band and the show was about the music, not much else. One of the most amazings gigs I have ever attended.
