Hi. I'd like to learn to play the rest of the Mario music that I don't already know (I already know the main theme from SMB 1 and a few other things). I was wondering if anyone knows where I should go to download some MIDI (or other format like MP3 for example) files and make a complete (to date) collection of Mario music? I also want to know which tune is for which level or event, for example I know Bowzer's castle, the coin and extra life and mushroom in SMB1, but, for example, I can't figure out how to play the one where he's going down a pipe in SMB1. I also have recently heard some that I recognized as possibly Mario music, but I don't know what it was. I don't have a NES, and don't plan to purchase one in the forseeable future yet - I just want to learn to play them on the piano.
Oh, and not just Mario - other music - and I would like to know what's a good resource (or some) for me to look at. One I saw when Googling was vgmusic.com - is that probably the most complete listing I'll probably find, or does anyone know of any better ones?

Here you go: http://gprime.net/images/mariopiano/ You should check out the videos of this guy playing the music, it's insane. I think it's at videogamepianist.com, but don't quote me.

I know that, but even at videogamepianist.com the Mario collection isn't complete - there's a lot of mario music that I haven't found recordings of him playing that I have heard when near people playing Mario on NES.

I'm not really sure where you can find other stuff from Mario. I found some cool websites with animated videos and stuff. Try googling "SMB Mario Sheet Music for Free" Maybe that'll help. Sorry I can't be any more help.

Why all this talk about VGP? Check out Piano Squall. Actually VGP got in trouble because he was using other people's transcriptions on his website without permission. (you might have wondered why he took the sheet music page down) Anyway, for video game sheet music check out this website: http://www.tloveland.com/sheetmusic.html It even has my transcription of Mallow's Theme from Mario RPG, which is a wonderful tune, but rarely played.
