I've been browsing the board for the last few months, mostly on the big board as my wife and I have been considering upgrading to a professional model piano... I joined up and since found lots of interesting things on this non-classical board. I'm a recent grad of North Texas where I now teach as adjunct faculty in the jazz department... I originally hail from Canada (Nova Scotia) anyhow, here's a video of me playing one of my own compositions... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRLdv2gE8LI

welcome josh. you will see that this area is not quite as active as the big board but still quite interesting. the main forum is a great place to get help on buying a piano. it ultimately saved me a lot of money and i bought the right instrument for me, thanks to all the inputs i got there. have you made a decision on a piano yet? tim

well, still not ready to pull the trigger... I think we will have to see how the college job market is looking (applying for several tenured positions) before we take the plunge.
I have a gorgeous Steinway in my office, and will be recording soon on one of my favorite yamahas (a c6 in a studio that is really surprising very very even and responsive)... so far I have probably been most impressed with the Shigeru Kawais and a fairly darkly voiced M&H.
We'll see what happens!
