Hi everyone,

I am just getting back into piano after a ~15 year hiatus (I played for several years when I was still in middle-school; I am now 28). I am currently working on relearning Moonlight Sonata and Memory from the musical Cats- I'm rather surprised how quickly some of it is coming back!

My goal is to really work on faking. I think I want to accomplish this by advancing my chord knowledge.

My background is mostly traditional with a small amount of faking/improv. I can get major/minors down without too much trouble and some 7ths, but I'm not sure where to focus my attention after this- there are so many places to choose from.

Should I work on a specific area of theory, just
learn chord triads/arpeggios, understand common progressions, etc? If "Yes" to all of these, I'd love suggestions on how to tackle them (I am planning on doing this self-study).
