I've just been spending time with the DVD "Learn to play gospel piano" taught by Ethel Caffie-Austen. This DVD is available through homespun tapes. The program goes through each song starting with single finger melody and gradually adding harmony and fills. Unlike other DVD's I've come across, Dr. Ethel gets down to teaching instead of just impressing you with fast licks which woulld take the average human a century to learn. She even slows down and you can watch her hands from the overhead shot. Comes with a booklet of transcriptions. A couple of misprinted notes but she nails the style. Also check out www.gospelkeyboard.com. They had some free on line lessons last time I was at that site.

This is an older course...but I think that there's a Henry Slaughter Gosple Piano Course Available.

If I remember correctly, he used to play piano at some of Billy Graham's crusades.

Hope this helps.
