I'll try to be concise.

So, what have you bookmarked?

Thanks,

I've just edited my question, I guess it was too specific. Just suggest web pages, e-books, e-zines or whatever is worth to be read.

Thanks again.

Galois:

And do you apply groups to your piano music ? With a name like that surely you do ! It's possible to treat the piano as a cyclic group of order twelve and it then follows that every chord type maps onto a partition of twelve, regarded as semitone jumps. e.g. a major triad in root position is 4,3,5, a minor sixth 3,4,2,3 and so on.

A double application of the Polya Burnside theorem to the cyclic group, and then to the symmetry of each partition gives a total of 352 chord types possible on the piano. I published this in the local maths magazine years ago because music magazines wouldn't take it. It's too simple to be original to me but I've never seen another article about it.

I use it myself in my algorithmic composition routines.

Haha! No, I don't apply groups to anything, probably because I don't know much of them yet. Last semester's classes didn't even introduce the introduction to modern Algebra. But I got your idea, though ;\)
