Any forum members ever used WMt, SBks, ? custom CD services where you select/pay for cuts from the vendors' resource(s) of artists' recordings? Were/are you satisified w/the finished product? Would you recommend any particular vendors?

Hi,
Apple iTunes seems to be the leader in this field. 500 million downloads and everybody gets paid.

Thanks RM. Do any forum members use the Walmart CD service?

According to the WM website info,
"A Custom CD costs $4.62 (includes CD and 3 songs) plus 88 cents for each additional song. For example, a Custom CD with 10 songs on it will cost $10.78 ($4.62 + $6.16 for 7 additional songs) plus tax and shipping charges, if applicable."

Sounds like a reasonable deal if the catalogue of artists/recordings is ample. Any feedback?

In the 1990s, I was in the multimedia business and we dup'ed a lot of CDs.

Even then, we paid under $3.00 per CD, including 1-color screen printing on the CD, on runs of 500 or more.

I'm sure you can get a better price now. Look in your yellow pages for CD duplication (or on the web). Get some quotes.

I may be misleading folks--the service I'm asking about allows a person to select up to 20 works from a library of artists' recordings. Rather than spend $12-$20 for a CD that includes only 1 or 2 favored songs--select the recordings you want & have them put on 1 CD for 20+ bucks.

Sorry wfred,

I missunderstood. Good luck in your search.
