Hello! I have a question about the well known tune, "American Pie".
Okay, I am going to be playing the piano and singing this at a concert. I need help on a good bass line to use.....using octaves ALL THE TIME in the left hand just sounds "blah". Does anyone know of a good score of this song? If anyone does have a good score for this tune, I would be willing to send them a few of some of my sheets of your choice.....I have lotssss of sheet music! Just let me know....thanks!!!

I'm sorry, I don't personally own a score of this sheet music--too bad, I'd love to have some of yours! haha. I do agree however that using octaves all the time is not the best way to make it exciting. Did you try some intense chording on the left hand instead of just octaves? Or running notes perhaps, like eighth notes or maybe even sixteenths? (I think sixteenths would be too fast for Don McLean, though.)
Let me know how everything goes!
