Is it really possible to play the 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody? Or am I just lazy? I'm saying this because there are parts in the song that go really fast and have to stretch your hands really far, I am using my pinkie. If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it.

you might want to post this in "Pianist Corner" to get some answers. HR2 is a difficult piece, even my teacher said that he's not sure he'd play it because of its technical difficulties.

Yes, this doesn't belong in the composer's lounge, but Pianist Corner. But Signa's right - the HR2 is quite difficult to play. It's hardly impossible, but it has formidable demands it makes of the pianist. As for advice in playing it. (A) if you don't have a teacher, get one; (B) if you are having lots of trouble with this one, it's probably a sign you may have bitten off more than you can chew - you may want to look at some of the other Rhapsodies or some of Liszt's easier works to get a feel for what Liszt's all about; (C) practice slowly...

This Hungarian Rhapsody 2 is playable by all means, but it is very difficult. If you want to learn the Hungarian Rhapsody 2, you must have very refined technique to begin with. If you don't, you are wasting your time. If you do, sit down at the piano with the sheets one evening, and play first the lassan and then the frisk all the way through very slowly. There are a bunch of weird notes, but you will hit them all if you go slow enough. By the way, if you can not play octave passages very fluently, it is worthless to continue. Anyway, d the piece over and over again very slowly. Then, gradually speed it up. Along this path, you may encounter trouble in several passages, especially some in the frisk section. Play them over and over again, and don't even think of going fast! Eventually, you will have it perfectly at a slow tempo, and you can (gradually) speed up. This is how I learned this piece, and the time spent was worth it.
I don't think you really need a teacher to teach you this piece. If you are an experienced player, you will manage fine on your own. Good luck anyway, and remember what I suggested.
