Hallo everybody.
I came here from digital pianos forum to just ask an advice, otherwise I have no business here as I am no composer. I would like to be able to play by ear using chord progressions and so could somebody , please, advise me on good book ( preferably with CD included) that would help me learn it with the least amount of sweat. I can play when reading music fluently (have done it for over 40 years) but when it comes to chords, my music education totally lacks.
Thanks in advance

get a theory book like this one, which covers almost everything from basic notations to harmony and some composition basics:

I don't know of a book personally. I mostly read music and am lacking in the improv./playing by ear department which is something I am starting to try to figure out on my own so could use the advice too. I was just thinking you might want to also add your question to the "Pianist Corner - non-classical" forum as I think there are quite a few experts there that know how to play by ear and improvise fluently and might be familiar with a streamlined approach in a book or software program. Good luck!
