I was going to write a sonata, but what I wanted to write before I wrote it wasn't the same as the end product, so I haven't named it yet... I basically notated some ideas I had with a structure. Not totally happy with it (especially the ending) but there you go.

And it is in Finale format.

Max,

YOu might get more responses if you could convert it to MP3.

I agree. Hit us with a piano recording of the piece.

Best, John

My piano teacher recorded it for me over the weekend, as I need to submit a recording with my coursework! He did a great job, although I don't always agree with his interpretation ;\)

It's a Rondo in form (but not stylistically), I see it as A-B-A-C-A1-B-A2-coda, but its a little too free I think.

did u say its part of a Sonata?
sounds to me like a folk tune, may be the way ur teacher played, i will have to look at the score to see if there are any original harmonic or melodic ideas. couldnt hear one

"I was going to write a sonata, but.."

As I said, I started off with the intention of writing a piece in sonata form, but I decided not to and try something different.

And I'm not sure what you mean in the second part - I didn't use any folk tunes, and I'm pretty sure all of the harmonic and melodic ideas are original and not plagerised

You can open it with Finale Notepad - it's free and you can download it from http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/default.aspx
