Well, I have been off and on these forums for two years now, but I am back for some feedback once again!

Rain of Tears - Fayzan A [Draft 1]

Please note that:
- I have been teaching myself for 9 month's now, theory and practical using books etc.
- I understand that I don't play it too well myself, as well as the speed varies throughout, I just get carried away during the middle etc!
- I can't think of a second verse just yet! So this is Draft 1 which ocntains Opening, Chorus, Verse 1, Chorus!
- I wanted a sad theme to it, however it turned out to be a bit epical, but still, think of something sad when you listen!
- Played on a Yamaha YDP-140, it seems that the line-in on my laptop does not wish to pick up the high notes, so the quality is somewhat poor \:\( !

All feedback and comments are welcome, as long as they are constructive, I would really like to finish this before I leave for University (cannot take my piano, but will second year!).

I will update this post when Draft 2 comes out of my fingers!

Many thanks,
Lavace.

Hello there!

Well, I took a listen, and before about the 0:32 point, I really didn't think I was going to like it. But then it kind of took off and I found myself enjoying it a lot! I think you're on to something here. Keep at it, and please post the results when you've got it completed.

Others may have more constructive feedback; I just wanted to say good work so far.

dave

You've got some nice ideas here. This piece seems to fit the mold of most of the "New Age" pieces. The only major objection that I have is that it's too short. You could use a little more development in the middle of the piece.

Other than that, nice -- keep working on it.

Ed

I don't normally comment on pieces offered in this forum (I figure I don't know enough about music theory or composition), but this comment caught my eye, as I am a die-hard new age fan.

I agree that your piece has a definite new age flair, and it is very nice... I think it is as good as lot of new age "professional" recordings out there. I do agree that it is too short and seems to end somewhat abruptly. Keep at it... I'd like to hear a longer version if you do end up adding to it.
