Does anyone remember George Winston? "Autumn" was one of his piano, new age ,probably more impressionistic ,compositions? One of the first CD's, maybe the very first ...Do you remember and want to share with us any info? I am a fan...Am I the only old timer? If you want... I will share a live concert of his I attended in St. Augustine Florida... in the early 1990's...Sandy B

George Winston is my hero. He's one of my top 3 or 4 favorite musical artists (the person holding the #1 slot rotates depending on my mood at the time). I have everything he has ever recorded. And I've seen him perform live twice.

Breathtakingly beautiful music. Longing/Love from Autumn is my favorite piece of his, and it was my "goal" piece when I started piano.

Great artist. I picked up his latest album, Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions, earlier this week.

Also, I wouldn't doubt that I was at the same St. Augustine concert. I lived in Melbourne, FL, at that time and I did see Winston perform.

[Does tremendous double-take.] I didn't even KNOW he had a new album out! As soon as I read this I went straight to Rhapsody, and it looks like it was released just a week or so ago. Let me correct my post: I own everything he ever recorded, except one album. Which I will be buying soon. wink

When I fist heard Winston, I thought it was just intermission music but now I can`t get enough of his music either.

My computer is in the shop and I`m sending it from a cafe. Of course no-one gets missed here? I`ll try and get back on this later...

So happy to know others in our forum appreciate George Winston ...Did any of you see him perform with no shoes too ? Does anyone know if George Winston's composition Autumn was on the first ever CD ? I heard this but could never confirm ...Has anyone ever heard George Winston play his boogie woogie? He really rocked the place..The walls seemed to dance in time with him when we were at his concert in St. Augustine ...in the early 1990's ...I had a pair of binoculars in the balcony...George Winston kept staring up at me many times and I could not figure out if I made him nervous or what? I almost put them away, but,I was too excited watching his hands at the piano performing to put them down... I should have I guess? Sandy B

We saw Goerge Winston in San Diego many years ago [ no shoes] and loved his music and performance. We saw him last year in Durango and that will be the last time we spend $70 for a show to see him. With the exception of "Cat and Mouse" a showstopper by Aaron Copeland his music was loud and banging for 2 hours...plus he added his guitar and harmonica which I could care less to hear. I think if he'd have had a hammer he might have used it on the 9ft Baldwin. We couldn't wait to leave the show.

My apologizes for having to be so honest.
