Here's a new track I composed for a film listing that ask for a dark, moody, edgy, piano track. Not sure if it will be used yet. Thanks for listening. "Edge" http://www.artistcollaboration.com/~johnny-boy/Edge-Piano-Strings.mp3 Best, John

Hi Johnny,
I'm listening on computer speakers, but it sounds like there's too much low mid energy, what audio engineers call schmotz. I guessing it'll sound much clearer if you take out at least 5 dB around 225 Hz, but feel free to make your own adjustments. Other than that the music's nice.

Thanks for listening Steve.
I just listened to the wav file through my Yamaha monitors. I'm not hearing that schmotz. No problem here as far as EQing. Just not sure if it needs it.
I'll listen to it on a few other sources.
Thanks again, John

I liked the beginning very much, but I wonder if the film people would think it was sufficiently dark. [/b] Maybe not Monica. I should know today. If it isn't "dark" enough, I'll wait for a semi-dark listing. Thanks for listening. Best, John

Hi John,
Have you seen the film? I would think it would be hard to compose a piece without some sense of what the film is about, talking to the filmmaker, or ideally having a visual.
I notice this is a relatively old thread.
What became of it? Was it used?

Hi Pianobuff,
It didn't make the cut, though they liked it and are keeping it.
Thanks for asking.
Best, John
