Does anyone else get torn between what part of music you are going to focus on in any given day? If you're practicing an instrument or voice, do you feel like you should be composing? If you are composing, do you feel like you should be practicing? What about other facets of music, researching music history, keeping up on concepts, etc.? How does one fit it all in?

When you "work on your music", what do you spend the most time on and how do you balance say practicing other repertoire vs. composing? Or do you primarly compose and not really practice an instrument much? Well, I quit with my line of questioning as you probably get the point by now.

My practice days are over - it's time to make music!

i practice piano more, and hardly compose anything these days. actually i really want to play piano well, so that composing is just a side-work for me now, but i should find some time at least to get that MIP project done.

I improvise 90% of my time at the piano, so I'm not sure which category that fits in - much closer to composition than to practice I imagine.

I'm afraid I practice the piano a lot more than composing. But I try to do both much.
Piano is my main instrument that I study at school, and I have concerts, exams.. seminars.. bla bla all the time. So composing, well, I compose mostly before sleeping. \:\)

Composing only - and every day.

I don't practice anymore.
