I've been playing about with Celtic music for a while (just finished writing and mixing a CD of Celtic influenced compositions, Mike Oldfield style).

Anyway, I've had Scottish music on the brain for quite a while, so I suppose it's no suprise that I ended up improvising in the style!

I tend to record my improvisations, so here's a Celtic Improvisation. Hope you enjoy.

Absolutely wonderful!!! My ears never once got tired of listening! - Love the expression and I like Celtic stuff too.

- Not sure about the final ending. If you want something that doesn't sound "final" experiment with either a different harmony on the very last group of notes or one more extra little something or other at the end. But who am I to talk in light of how great it was! If you liked the final notes, leave it.

Thank you for your lovely comments, I'm so pleased you liked it.

I know what you mean about the ending. The piece is mostly in E minor, but finishes on a D major chord. I like playing with endings on something other than a perfect or plagal cadence in the tonic, but I agree that I could have probably prepared it better.

If you like the Celtic stuff, when I get round to finishing my website I'll put some samples of my Celtic CD up there.
