Quick advice:

This is (as any really), an international forum, so Candians right now are asleep, USA citizens also, Europeans have woken up and are work and you Ausies have gotten back from work! Leave the thread be and people will reply.

Now on your piece.

On first view I felt quite weird... "Bah... the guy just put a few 1/2nds chords in a line and thinks he composes". But I did try it on the keyboard after the initial 1 sec viewing and was pleasently surprised!

The hamronic progression is quite nice, although it won't win any metals on originality (why should one chasse such a metal anyway?), and in the piano it simply works, no matter how empty it may seem.

My gut told me, while playing it, that this is an intro to something else, an overtoure maybe, the 1st prelude of the other 23 to come. Right now it doesn't feel strong enough to stand on it's own, it feels incomplete. At the same time I don't think that you should extend it, other than close it, and not make it 2 pages even.

It serves a great purpose as a... promenade, maybe (like Mussorgsky had in the "pictures of an exhibition") or a choral opening to another more... melodic, more alive, more moving part.

So, in all. Great start! Needs development, but not necessarily on the same piece, but maybe a different, like making a set perhaps.

in my opinion it need something before bar 13, so it leads up to that cromatic chord part a bit better, and also to fill the page a bit more. I also need to end the section, as you said.

i was playing around with a second part today, i'll put the sheet music up once i've finished it a bit more, but it is more lively and melodic (this was before i read you post, must be on the same wave length )

i was thinking i could turn it into something like a sonatina ect..
