Well, I'm getting better! Still no Brahms, but I'm getting there.
This first one I wrote a couple weeks ago. For some reason, I was sitting in my dorm room feeling unusually lonely and sad, and I wrote this in about 5 minutes. "An emotional snapshot of the moment," one might say. So now here I am listening to it again a few weeks later, thinking, "hey, that's actually kind of good... maybe I should post this at PW" :p MIDI recording
The next one is a very short invention. I wrote this one on Sunday, while I was waiting to go hear a harpsichord recital (and actually a little bit during the recital, too.

The third one is something I just wrote today. It was a really nice day, so I went outside to sit by the lake outside the music school and read about Beethoven, and somehow I ended up scribbling in my notebook. MIDI recording
I'm trying to work on developing themes more, and not just writing 4 measures and not really going anywhere from there. Also, the left hand has been something I've been working on in terms of rhythm and also in terms of just not repeating the same phrase over and over and over and over again.
What do you think? Do you like them?
Are there any comments you might have in terms of how they are written and how I might think more about development / left hand?
