You didn't? Well blimey, sure enough! But of course you're still a member of the 'official' Organ Forum? Not much going on there these days, it's all about electronic toasters... hardly the King of Instruments.

Cheers...

i play mostly on a mid sized electric church Allen.. for a fairly large church..

something pretty close to this one.

http://www.allenorgan.com/www/products/mainprotege.html

it's not a pipe organ but is a BLAST to play on. Occasionally i substitute around town and play a variety of older pipe organs and comparable Allens.

Perhaps I'm butting in here -- sorry.

I play a Victorian 3-manual and pedals pipe organ in a village church. I'm reserve organist for an early tradition service with good music and old hymns (the later main service is mainly guitar and drums).

The other organist is a friend and we work together very well.

Organ nice smooth diapason tone with some rather brassy reeds.

I enjoy playing it.

i bet it's wonderful.. Do you know how old it is? I relish the chance to play on smaller pipe congregational organs.. so much fun to practice and learn on.

Hi Apple, I hope you are feeling better. I played a three-manual Rodgers last Sunday, when I was guest organist at the church across the street from your church. I could have walked over and heard you playing between services.

I'm not an organist, yet, but I do enjoy the music for the instrument. The local Episcopal church down the street from me has the Op. 99 from Aeolian Skinner. This was once at the former Bradford College in Bradford (Haverhill). They purchased the instrument from the college some time in the 1980s and had it refurbished by C.B. Fiske in Gloucester.

This is a very sweet sounding instrument that is located in one of the best-sounding churches around. The acoustics are fantastic, and the organ is never harsh no matter who plays.

Hi Apple,
I play a 12 rank 103 year old Austin that is still original tubular-pneumatic! I am going to restore the instrument this summer and at home I have a 6 rank Berna that I built! It has a direct electric manual action and a electro-pneumatic bass action on a two manual console! I don't mind the electronic church organs but, there is really only two types of organs, reed and PIPE!
