Hi! My name is Alvaro, I'm from Spain, and I'm a Piano Student. I'm 21 years old, and I'm studying to become a professional Pianist. This is not my first time in this forum, but my other account was a little bit messed up, so I decided to make a new one. Maybe someone remembers me? Hmm... I don't know, it's been a long time... I'm living in London, where I'm studying Piano in a Music Academy, and I'm very pleased about that I must say. The Academy if superb, and so are the teachers, plus I get access to practising 7 hours per day from Monday to Sunday. Actually, I'm allowed to stay all night long if I wish! So that's brilliant considering I can practice in a beautiful Schimmel with a very warm sound. And the best thing of all, I don't disturb the neighbours! I myself own a Schimmel, I had to sell my Steinway B... I know... it hurts... but our economy is not being very good recently, so... we had no choice. But then again, after recession there's always an economic boom, so... who knows? Maybe I'll own the Piano of my dreams in a few years! As per favourite composers... Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninov are the ones I love most (and I'm starting to discover Brahms). I hope to have a great time with all of you, since I remember this forum perfectly, and the members I talked to were very nice. Let the music begin, ladies and gentlemen. Let our dream begin! Alvaro.

Hi Greg and Euan! Nice to hear from you again!
Greg: I had a great time with my Steinway, but I'm very pleased with my Schimmel too, and very pleased with the pianos in the academy. So it's better than before, even if my Steinway is no longer with me. Things will get better and I'll be able to afford another Grand Piano in some years time, hopefully.
Euan: London is great, although I miss my family and friends! But I believe London is a great place for music, and that was what draw my attention immediately. The last works I was playing back in Spain with my old teacher were... a Toccata and Fugue (Bach), a Beethoven Sonata (don't remember the number right now), one of Chopin's Polonaises, Chopin's Scherzo No.2 (2/3 finished) and Chopin's first Ballade (1/3 done).
Right now, I have to start a new programme with my new teacher, who I will be meeting next Tuesday. So... I'll let you know my new pieces as soon as possible!
Cheers! BTW: I'll be posting very often! I've always loved this place.
Alvaro.

Hi Alvaro. My name's Joshua, I'm also 21 and I started playing piano about a month ago and wish to get into a music school in a 6-7 years. Monika told me that you also started playing piano relatively late as well, and got accepted to a conservatory a few years later. I just thought it would be cool to talk to someone who used to be in a similar situation as me. If you could give me any advice or information that would be great!(especially on the admissions process) thank you, hope we can meet each other as professional pianists one day.

Welcome back Alaro. Always loved your recordings of your music. The first one I heard was a Mendelsohn. You played it beautifully. Hope you will send us some more recordings of your playing.
Best wishes. Gaby tu
