I am hoping for a more professional and courteous discourse, relating to the postings at the Forums. Since I too have played a part in the whole unfortunate debate about PTG vs. non-PTG technicians, I now submit this pledge in hopes of a higher outcome.

PLEDGE: The argument is over. I will henceforth seek mutual, respectful understanding with all of those members who may disagree with me, and work diligently toward a better, kinder communication.

There you have it my friends. Who will join me in this pledge? Who will add or amend it to make it better. Lets get together on this. We'll all win if we can all move forward together as respected collegues.

It doesn't matter if even one person replies, because now I am free.

You touch on something very elemental, RPD. That is this:

Our enemies are not other piano technicians. Our enemies are the declining attitudes in society regarding culture, which equate music making (in our case piano playing) to a consumer commodity instead of an activity. Public apathy is our common enemy, not only because we derive our livelihood from tuning and repairing pianos, but also for the sake of the health of our society's culture.

If we spend less energy fighting amongst ourselves and unite in directing that energy toward raising more awareness of the benefits of piano playing, the (Piano) World could be a better place.

I'm in too. Although, I'm afraid that Ryan might be a bit disappointed as he was seeming to really be enjoying himself in reading all of that stuff.

We should be more focused on what we can do to better create more jobs for ourselves, better educate our customers, do more rewarding work for our clients and we should all get along with one another.

Sure, occasional disagreements are bound to happen, it's a part of life but, it should never get to far out of hand.

I'm glad you chose to stick around too Rick. I thought about leaving here myself as well but had received a few private IM's asking me not to leave so I chose to stick with it as well.

We certainly don't want to turn this into a fighting forum that's for sure.

Okay, I’m in too. I promise not to post anything on this forum that may sound like I know anything at all about piano technology when I know I have only scratched the surface . I promise to be swift to hear and slow to speak.

But my pianos sure do sound good and play good since I’ve been visiting this forum.
