Anybody know anything about this piano? My parents have it and want to give it to me but I have no idea how much it would cost to restore or if it's even worth it. My Mom is supposed to email me some pics. It's beautiful, has carvings and such. It has to be antique. The number on it says 5369 but she couldn't find a date. Thanks so much!

Here's some history on the piano company:

Best thing.... Have a technician look at it. He will let you know what kind of shape it's in and if it's tunable.

But if you google brown simpson, you'll find that very few of the 10.5 million results will be about pianos. frown

My only point, and the only reason I found the Brown and Simpson piano commentworthy, was the odd fact that the name of an obscure manufacturer from the past just happens to be the protagonists in an infamous modern-day crime.

Thanks everyone! I emailed Blue book of Piano and this was their response(I gave them the serial number):

"From the master list of National piano archives serial numbers. This instrument is certifiable as being made in 1900. Brown & Simpson Pianos have properties that appreciate in value for reasons of age, craftsmanship, artistic merit and/or historical significance. "

So, I guess we will just have to wait and see. I am hoping to get it to my house in a week or 2.
