I have their CD and it includes jazz reworkings of the chopin etudes...you guys like? Or do you not approve of bastardizing the originals?
It is kind of classical in its nature though not fully jazz.... love it when it kicks in at 0:49

i also like his re-workings of chopin waltzes!

I love all 3 of these as well as the originals of course.

I like them all, and I don't consider them bastardizations of the works that inspired them. They're in the tradition of paraphrases and fantasies.

Unlike a performer who follows the score for the most part but alters and embellishes as he sees fit, the spirit and intent here are completely different. And unlike the musical chimera that results when a performer thinks his ideas improve upon the original, the product here is an original work in its own right that transforms and transcends its source of inspiration.
