Looking for thoughts on teaching fluid 16th notes in "Diamonds on the Water" by Wynn-Anne Rossi. Have any good technical ideas for keeping the 16th notes even?

I am not familiar with the piece, but here is how I deal with that kind of performance demand.

Practice the 16th-note passage in three different ways, at a suitable beginning tempo established with the help of a metronome: 2 16ths and 2 eighths; 1 eighth, 2 16ths and 1 eighth; 2 eights and 2 16ths.

Do each pattern a few times before going to the next. At the end, when the passage is played using all 16th notes at the metronome speed set for the patterns, it smooths out nicely.

Increase the tempo a bit and do the same again.

Repeat as needed to achieve performance tempo. Don't be in any rush about this -- the tempo can be increased gradually over a period of days or even weeks. The thing that counts is starting at what one is presently capable of with confidence and without error, and work up from there.
