Anyone here subscribed to the Pianist magazine from UK? I am looking for nice piano magazine which covers composers, artists, songs, piano technical info..etc. The only magazine I see here in US is Keyboard mag at the bookstore but...it's heavy on synth and electronic stuff and very little on covering pianos. Any input is appreciated...before I drop $59 bucks for Pianists Mag from overseas.

thanx.

You might want to do a search for "Pianist Magazine" in this forum and the ABF. This is a topic that comes up fairly regularly and a search should reveal opinions about Pianist and other piano related magazines.

Someone lent me their Feb-March copy. It has a good article on the fourth finger. It seems to cover a lot of bases.

Well musolife comes to mind, but I don't think it's about pianists only, if it were, they'd probably sell 3 issues a year;)....duh..
and what about Steinway? didn't they used to have a magazine?

I purchased a subscription to Pianist magazine about 5 months ago. The articles are interesting, but not too deep and not many articles per issue. As I expect you know, it is published bi-monthly. The big deal, in my opinion, is that each issue has a pretty large selection of sheet music categorized by level and genre. It also comes with a CD. I have been playing the piano for less than 2 years and find that I am not able to play most of the pieces, so they are of limited value for me. Nevertheless, I retain them in the hope that within a year or so, I will be able to use them.

Hope this helps. And I am interested in any recommendations others may have on other piano focused magazines.

I read (and quite like) Pianist magazine. The articles are generally good, and sometimes helpful.
The problem is that it is overpriced - largely because of the cover mounted cd.
I have heard good things about Clavier magazine, but haven't read it myself.
