M & H made a small grand I don't find in the action handbook. does anyone have experience/pointers on specs for this? the keyheight was at 2 3/8 but it has not been regulated in awhile....no aftertouch at that height..

It always makes the most sense to regulate a few samples to find out what specs the action requires. I have a copy of the piano action handbook but I can't remember the last time I actually looked in it.

I was just working on a quarter grand recently and the owner requested some regulating. The blow distance was a little narrow but the hammers were barely off the rest rail and the rail couldn't be lowered. So the other option was to shallow up the keydip: this action had too much aftertouch with the available blow distance.

I notice you give key height but I rarely measure that. The main thing is that the key cover doesn't rest on the back of the keys. The most important aspect of key height is that it work with the pianos case parts.
