Ello fellow musicians I am Dan gegegege, can I please get some help. I am piano NoooB and started playing with metronome 2 days ago and wondering if my method of dividing my times is correct. The piece that I am practicing on at the moment has 4/4 signature and full of 1/8 notes on the left hand. So I figure I plays every 1/8 notes on each metronome’s click making things easy for myself and respectably 1/2 notes every 4 clicks, 1/4 notes 2 clicks and 1/16 note 0.5 click. Am I doing the right things or there’re more than what I think it is. The only logic that I have to back this up is that times should be in with respect to a reference note, my 1/8 note in this case. I just don’t want to practice the wrong way and my music theory is limited. Thanks you in advance, Dan.:)

Everything you've said is correct.

Cool thanks, i was sort of in a dilemma and hesitated on practicing on whether it was right or not, didn’t want to do the hard work of undoing things. I had good feeling though but didn’t have enough confident. This should give me basic structures. Full speed ahead gagaga thanks again back to the keyboard.
