Schimmel Ferrari Piano

The classic piano is such a beautiful thing, I don't know why people mess with it.

For that price, I could buy practically every piano I've ever loved--or just one D and custom-build a house for it.

Looking at the picture, I wonder what it is that would make the piano so expensive to make. On the contrary, it would seem to me that the body mouldings are pretty cheap to make.

The bench doesn't even look adjustable (forwards or backwards, in addition to the usual up and down), which if that's the case is a tremendous problem.

Because the vertical bar is mounted to the rear of the black platform, I suspect the platform is swiveled from a center point. This would give you the vertical adjustment. The seat is probably mounted to a slide rail to give a certain amount of in and out. I am curious about the pedals.

The fallboard casts a shadow over the keyboard, you have to climb aboard to begin playing, and there is no room for another passenger. This isn't a quantum leap as much as a Great Leap Forward (maybe that's the translation for the Chinese word Guoqin).

Has Schimmel ever heard of the phrase "form follows function?"

I agree with pno. . . . YUCK!!!! I can't imagine anyone but a non-muscian wanting that in their garage or home.

This is a piano made for Hotels or Bars, or very very rich people. It's purely for looks, and considering it has an electrically opened lid, I actually think it's very cool. Inside is just a Schimmel 208 (I think), and the keyboard is actually curved downwards at both ends.

It's also available in different colours, like black and white. I reckon this is very very cool.

Ok, I admit - I have an Acer Ferrari monitor (G24, lovely shape and glowing orange colour), and my bro has an Acer Ferrari laptop (Red with ferrari logo), and both of them truly are marvels of artistic creativity in computer appearance.

But this Piano? Its a load of ugly butt poop!!!

If designing anything based on Ferrari, just let Acer handle it, Im sure they could have done a far far better job with designing a Ferrari piano than most piano makers can.

I absolutely adore Acer's PC designs based on the ferrari and wish they would sell their orange PC case on its own without the stuff inside for me to get, but this piano is just hideous - thats coming from someone who should actually love to have a ferrari piano alongside his ferrari PC.
