Hello all,
A few weeks ago, I think someone may have posted a link that lists classical repertoire for each RCM grade. I'd love to go back to that, but I can't seem to find it through the search function here.

Can someone please post me a link to it??

thank you!

It's not the RCM syllabus (which you have to buy from Frederick Harris), but another system in Canada with very similar levels. You can see it here.

I'm curious. I know we Americans really slaughter the language, but what precisely does this mean?

Quote:
Candidates are required to prepare the following:
i) Five pieces - each from list A, B, C, D and E plus
ii) Two studies - from the studies listed below.

Does it mean candidates are required to perform 25 pieces, 5 each from list A, B, etc., and 2 studies. Or does it mean cadidates are required to perform 5 pieces, 1 each from list A, B, C, etc.?

I believe it's one piece from each list.

And the RCM repertoire list is not freely available online.

However, the British Columbia Conservatory of music does make their syllabus freely available. It's not exactly the same as the RCM syllabus, but the leveling is roughly similar:

JW, as luck would have it, I immediately checked grade 10, and the quote was what I found. I should have read more. Ten lashes with a wet noodle!

Thanks.

My quote came from their website which was posted above, and it is here: Quoted site

It appears we're talking about two different resources.

Rachel, I've always found these guides very useful. Although there are many published rankings of repertoire levels, the authors sometimes have blind spots for some student problems. The more, the merrier.
