I've spent quite a long time writing this. The theme from 5:04 onwards had been in my head since 2004 but I couldn't land it anywhere until now!

A Ray Through the Clouds

It's almost a sequel to Lament for the Dead Lovers which I posted a few months ago (follow link). The end of Lament for the Dead Lovers musically connects with the beginning of this piece, effectively "finishing" that piece which had ended in an interrupted cadence. Unfortunately (or not ...) I've managed to end this piece in another non-tonic chord! There were a couple of progressions I don't use very often (D/C -> F#, right at the end; and Ebm7 -> Eb, 4:14 - 4:20). It sounded strange to my ears at first but it had been gradually growing on me as I kept working on this piece. What's your first-time reaction?

Also, any suggestion to shortening this title? I think it's quite a mouthful (especially with two articles and a preposition making up half the words...!)

General comments/critique also welcome.

Many thanks.

Well done Tar. I think the title is fine.
