It snowed Thursday morning. Friday morning it was 26 degrees. Friday afternoon it was 76 degrees. Today it will be in the mid-80s. Monday it will be near 90 degrees.
Come on piano owners...open up those windows and let the heat and humidity inside! Knock those pianos out of tune!

You drumming up business, Eric? No, Mother Nature is doing that for me. She's really good in that way.

When I was tuning independently I used to get calls during the "Santa Ana" conditions in So. CA. Humidity would suddenly drop below 20%, temperature up in the 90s, and the pianos would sound horrible.
I used to tell people, "Live with it for a week, until the weather changes back to normal, then call me if it still sounds bad." If I made the appointment, it would be 2 or 3 weeks later anyway, and the owners would cancel.
I felt sort of like a doctor telling a caller "take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning."

The humidity level in my area has been unseasonably low (slight drought). I had scheduled an appointment with my local technician to tune a few weeks ago. He called to reschedule at least a week later so I would get more "mileage" from the tuning as rainy weather was forecast.
I must say I appreciated the gesture!
