I would like to connect a digital piano to a pc so as to write the music as I play it. Also interested in any software for learning to play. Looking for recomendations.

I have recently learned to do this myself:

- Connection of a keyboard or digital piano to a PC, one only needs a "USB - MIDI Interface". I bought a M-Audio midi interface (about USD 50). The keyboard, of course, must have MIDI In and MIDI Out jacks (two big round ones). I guess most of them should have it.

- The MIDI signals can then be transmitted from the keyboard to the PC for whatever software application. I use MacBook Garage Band and it can record the music I play. For PC, I have heard about Cubase, Sonar, etc. It can also be connected to sheet music typing softwares such as Sibelius and Finale.

If you want to find out what these softwares are, just Google them.

For software teaching to play, I don't know much. But if you click on my site, you will find some work for the same purpose. There are free trials. See if it is for you.
