Hello all,

I am new member to this forum, but have been reading the posts for sometime, very informative!

I am shopping a used Yamaha C3 piano and find one in Knauer Pianos in Northridge, CA.

Does any member know this piano store and what is the store's reputation?

I am living in Virginia. Can someone near Northridge, CA (address below) test out the piano for me before I hire a technician to check it out?

Ben Knauer is a good friend of mine and runs a class operation offering a diverse selection of new and preowned pianos. I think, though he is now retail,he still offers great prices compared to most high end retail establishments. He is of a 2nd generation family wholesale operation so his prices still reflect a great value to the consumer. I bought my very first Steinway grand from him many moons ago. I have alot of respect for him though he is a friendly competitor at times.

I don't know Ben Knauer personally, but I can second broker's comments that he runs a class operation. I've been in his shop many times. You never know what you're going to find there, and that makes it fun. Ben, Brian, and Steven are extremely low-pressure and let the pianos do the talking.

I'm a little curious though why you would want to buy a C3 in CA when you're in Georgia. C3's are not that hard to find.

Thank you pianobroker and turandot for your comments. I saw Ben Knauer has the C3 piano on the internet with attractive price compared to local piano dealers. I also talk to Brian over the phone. But still want someone nearby test it out before I go further.
