So I can already improv well, read off chord charts, and play with bands and that stuff, but I'm not very good at getting that kinda piano rock/blues feel [kind of like Ben Folds in the song fired] and I'd really like to get better at it. I can play along with a 12 bar without to much problem, but I basically just stick to playing the straight chords rather than playing much of a melody and I let the guitars take that. I'd like to just get better at my rock and blues piano, I'm not bad at it but I'm not good either. I can play it well enough so people who don't play think I'm good, but that's it. Ha. Any advice?
I also wanna learn more about jazz chord voicings, I suck at those....

I think you've gone about as far as you can go with out professional help.

Finding a teacher that will teach what you want may take some doing, but is the next step.

Good luck.

Malcolm
