Hi there!

Some time ago I wrote I was going to have my first public performance ever. The Music Academy I'm studying at hosted this past Thursday a lovely Easter Party (postponed several times). Both teachers and students played, although not all of them. I did play, and I finally decided to give my best shot at Debussy's Claire de Lune. And, Oh my God... what a shot! I was so relaxed and so concentrated on my music that I only realised there was public when I finished my piece with a great ovation! I was so pleased and so proud... I mean... They all came after the concert to congratulate me, and I even had the privilege of hearing some teachers speaking to others about me with words like... "His timing was perfect" or "That ending was magical". I really can't believe it. I never thought my first recital was going to be so good.
We all had a lovely evening: Music, wine, getting to know new people... everything was great.
There were also some pictures taken. As soon as they send me those pics, I'll post them here if you wish.
Hard work DOES get you somewhere!

Be seeing you!
Alvaro.

Thank you, Monica!
Well... I guess it had something to do with the wine, tee-hee!
No, seriously: I think I played relaxed because of the room, there was not much light, and that's how I prefer to play: in the evening and as dark as possible.

Very well done mate,

Getting through even a reg recital is not easy (I know I've done 2) but what a great experience with some very encouraging feedback.

Alvaro,
Congrats on your wonderful recital.

I think you must have been "in the zone", like what you hear some athletes experience. The whole public just disappeared for you and you and the music are one. (Very Zen too!) Yes, things are very magical when that happens.
