The one keyed piano has two pedals? I guess that makes sense though.

What I'd like to know is how the insert_expletive_of_your_choice_here does insert_your_choice_of_deity_here allow a manufacturer to even attempt to justify putting what is likely a 5'8" (approx) grand piano in a (approx) 9' case?
(For uprights, I personally like the pianos best on which the speaking length of A0 is at least as long as (if not longer than) the total height of the cabinet, from the floor to the top of the closed lid. In order to avoid having the backscale be too short, I actually prefer to have a wide cabinet, for example on in which the block (whatever it's called) to the left of the keyboard is about the same width as an octave to a 12th worth of white keys... (and probably almost as wide on the treble end, although usually that block is shorter than the one at the bass.)) I actually like the Baldwin 243 better than the Yamaha U3, if only slightly.

This Fazioli is sculpture. It's an abstraction of a grand piano. In the context of the right architecture, it would fit right in. It seems like the point of its existence is as a design study of interesting shapes and textures the same way futuristic designs show up at car shows - they rarely make it to production but stretch the envelope of what the designers and fabricators are capable of. I wouldn't want it in my living room but in the context of a museum or design studio it would be fun to see. Not sure of it's performance as a piano without hearing it but I don't think this is it's primary purpose.

The one-keyed piano is for people with limited space who want to play music by John Cage.

Joseph BEUYS´s famous felt grand: "Infiltration homogen für Konzertflügel".

The essence of two recently published wright-ups about Joseph BEUYS and his felt grand (unfortunately in German only, see below):

"Infiltration Homogeneous for Concert Grand"

The experience of an aviator, who was enwraped with felt and cared for healthy by Mongolians, after his was wounded severely because of an airplaine crash in World War II, let Beuys to realize that pain, malady and death are inevitably part of any existence at an early stage.

The concert grand tightly enwraped with felt and with the cross is a symbol for the misery in face of losses [I think the author does not mean "losses" in a strikt sense of casualties] that are always threatening. The instrument keeps silent. No sound anymore. Likewise the grand keeps the reminder that music is possible if the shell re-releases the instrument. So there is hope in any pain.

BTW, I just found another nice artwork by Joseph BEUYS which similarly was made of felt:

Halved Felt Cross with Dust Image "Magda" 1960/1965
paper, felt, picture frame with image in handwriting and dust, wire, nails, under glass, in metal frame 108 x 68 cm

Jahrhundert?

Vielen Dank, Frau Bundeskanzlerin!"
