Impulsively bought a Yamaha U3 off Craigslist for $2900. It appears to be made from 1973-1976 and is in excellent condition! It is green felt but the inside felt looked barely used. It sounded lovely! This was pruchased for two young 8/6 year old beginners! Their teacher liked this model but did not see the actual piano.

Did I do okay? It is lovely - shiny black! UG! Should have checked here first - I am too impulsive but it is mine now!

Momofmany,You know you're really suppose seek advice before one pulls the trigger especially on a piano whereas much controversy is at issue.
Though Congrats on your new piano. It should be quite adequate for your young ones for years to come. For those that may not agree with your impulsive move, hopefully they will be considerate in that it is yours.
Again Congrats,Enjoy your new piano!

I know it was impulsive! I did some research on the model and it seemed okay. I could not spend any more than I did so I guess it was the best I had seen in my price range.

Yes they are excellent pianos and very much in demand. I'm sure that you did well. Now hire a good tech who is a member of the PTG.org and ask him how he can make it an excellent playing piano. It is likely to need regulation and voicing.
Enjoy and know that you are a great MOM.
