I haven't posted music for a while, have final exams coming up the end of this month but I've been composing all along too as a sanity outlet (!) and I'd like to share my recent work: StarlightsThis Nocturne-like piece is supposed to convey a sense of mysterious romance, the feeling we get when we contemplate that there's something very beautiful and mystical about the clear night sky. (imagine a vast, still black lake below it for added cheesy effect!) Please enjoy Tar

Please enjoy Well I certainly did! Very nicely shaped, and every time I thought I could guess what was coming next (especially harmonically), you surprised me (pleasantly). I'm going to have to go through and find some more of your pieces you've posted!

My only criticism is it struck me as abit long, but I couldn't begin to suggest what, where or how to edit it.

I loved this, it made me feel like I could feel the earth turning slowly. PS May I say, every time you post I feel like I want to crawl under a rock for at least 2 weeks!

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the kind replies - I'm really glad you did enjoy it Steve, I know what you mean. Looking back, there was a lot of "trying to get back to 'A section'" in the middle that might have made the 'B' section (which really splits into a genuine B and a development of 'A'). By being "a bit long", has it, to you, necessarily lost momentum? I'm not fussed with "long" - there're loads of good long pieces out there - but I do get concerned when the ball is perceived to have touch the ground, so to speak. By the way, thank you so much for the score of your 10 piano pieces - I've just realised I never got back to you, sorry about that. I haven't got round to analysing it properly but it's definitely on the list of things to do after my exams are over. Currawong, I do feel that this is one of my better ones (and definitely the best in a while), so you might not be as impressed with my earlier pieces

PS May I say, every time you post I feel like I want to crawl under a rock for at least 2 weeks! You're being far too nice, it makes me feel guilty... I'm just checking out your cell-phone song, taking forever to download...!
