I am looking for any information regarding a
Schumeltzer Austria
John Wightman & Son Edinburgh
Birdcage piano

I know that birdcage pianos were obsolete after 1900
The piano has an ornate rose inlay in its cover.
It has 85 keys instead of 88 which gave it an inferior sound

I have found the history of Wightman as a music seller:

WIGHTMAN, John music seller Edinburgh
piano tuner 8 St James Square 1843
20 St James Square 1844
tuner and dealer in pianos same address 1845-46
musicseller same address 1847-48
23 St James Square 1849
pianoforte merchant same address 1850-54
music warehouse 49 Hanover Street 1855-59
46 Frederick Street 1860-64
John Wightman & Son same address 1865-74
14[A] George Street 1875-84
13 Castle Street 1885-99
113 George Street 1900

I can find nothing about Schumeltzer Austria

How did these firms get together?

Allegedly this type of piano was commissioned for the Titanic by Whitestar!?

The pianos is in pristine condition, but missing the candelabras for the outside

Any historical, biographical or value information would be helpful.

I know there are many aficionado's that could guide and help me toward further research

Thanks you for your kindness in pursuing further knowledge on this family heirloom

I realize it is not meant to be played but as a piece of antiquity is where my interest lies
