The only one I know for sure is Rubinstein because he said Brahms was his favorite. I would assume that many pianists don't have one favorite but they might be able to list a group of 3 or 4 favorites.
Does anyone know other pianists who *said* one or a couple of composers were their favorite(and who were the pianists and composers)?
It might be fun to speculate for some pianists based on their repertoire or other things. For example:
Cziffra:Liszt Gould: Bach or someone like Byrd Goode: Beethoven or Bach Feinberg:Bach and Scriabin Fiorentino:Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt
And for some of our professional PW pianists: Kreisler:Schumann Thracozaag:Scriabin, transcriptions Brendan:Liszt,Messiaen,Rzewski

Horowitz adored Chopin above all others.
[edit] I need to find the documentation, so take this with a grain of salt until I do.

Horowitz adored Chopin above all others. Did he say this? I've read a few bios and don't remember reading it. I would certainly say he performed more Chopin than any other composer.

He certainly did. I know I've read somewhere about his affinity for Chopin, so I'll edit my post above to reflect that I still need to find the documentation.

I think it would be clearer if posters indicated if your pianist:composer matches were facts or your own speculations. I'm guessing Bruce's post is a fact(the composer said this somewhere) but I'm not sure.

The only one I know for sure is Rubinstein because he said Brahms was his favorite. Most pianists, if they are very dynamic, tend to have different favorite composers throughout their lives. In the intro to Wierzynski's biography of Chopin, Rubinstein indicates that Chopin is the composer he plays most often. He doesn't even mention Brahms and, being Polish, I would tend to think that his favorite composer would be Chopin.

There is the famous story(given in Rubinstein's own biography) of Rubinstein telling Scriabin that Brahms was his favorite composer(and Scriabin saying how bad he thought Brahms was). While it's possible Rubinstein changed his mind during his career, there is a difference between liking a composer the most and playing the compser the most. Brahms wrote far less solo piano music so it wouldn't be surprising that Rubinstein played Chopin more often than Brahms.

Gould: Bach or someone like Byrd
?? NO! Gould liked Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625) above all other composers Here you can see Gould play Gibbons : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WULDLz-WUxM Unfortunately, in a weak moment, Gould thought Stravinsky and Bartók the most overrated composers of the 20th century. But there is a pianist whose favorite composer is actually Bartók: me.
Robert Kenessy
.. it seems to me that the inherent nature [of the piano tone] becomes really expressive only by means of the present tendency to use the piano as a percussion instrument - Béla Bartók, early 1927.

A very interesting interview, especially when he says that although he loves Chopin, he thinks Schumann is far greater. Thanks.
