Writer Garrison Keiller attended a party the other night which he fully expected to be "boring" -- the usual subjects: old age (geezers, take note)and regrets, bankruptcy, air crashes -- and then a young woman just sat down and played Chopin and it was a "gift from the heart" -- a reminder that life can seem insurmountable but it can be good and it can be generous.
