I'm thinking of "moving up" to a charles walters so I would appreciate comments. I purchased my current piano, my first, from an excellent dealer who offers a trade up policy. No questions about the dealer with whom i'm pleased.

Look forward to responses about Charles Walters.

Hey, Jim,

When I was piano shopping this spring, the Charles Walter 1500 was my first choice. I liked the feel and the sound was warm and robust. It was a little more than budget allowed, so I compromised with my Kawai. My experience with Walters was just while shopping, but Walter pianos have a strong following on the forum. I'm sure you'll be hearing from Walter owners. They can tell you what it's like to live with one day to day. Good luck! And let us know what you do.

I liked the ones I've played on - the tone was firm, the action crisp, and the cabinetry rugged. If only there was a dealer near my home.

As a rebuilder/technician but also as A Walter dealer I believe it is one of the best products available in it's price range and above.

The way they are built/designed and the quality of components, you surly get what you are paying for.

Hi Jim,

Welcome to the forum.

I like the Walters very much. They are very, very good instruments. You didn't mention if you were looking at grands or verticals. Either way, if you find a piano that you like, it becomes an easy decision. Every one that I have played has a very robust and complex sound. The actions on all the models are as good as they get.

Have fun with your choices.

I absolutely LOVE my Walter. Fantastic feel, action, look... and no particle board used in the construction. Purchased about two years ago, and it's doing great!

Seriously, the Walter piano is a fine instrument that uses some of the finest components available throughout the piano. Charles Walter is also a fine man to deal with on every level.
