Is this a trick question?
G170 would probably be 170 cm. which is......5'8" ish. Tokai is a Japanese piano manufacture no longer imported into the states. Rickster has one. He'll probably tell you everything you need to know once he sees your thread.

Hi Vkeys,

I have a Tokai G-180 and it is like 5’10.75” (just under 6 feet). Piano Broker knows pianos like the back of his hand and his info is right on par. I looked at a late 1980’s D H Baldwin G-170 that was 5’8”.

You won’t find a lot of info on the Tokai brand and will probably get a range of opinions on the brand from t-total junk to very good quality. I’m afraid I’d have to vote “very good quality” based on my experience with my Tokai.

There is a fellow PW member who lives in Tokyo Japan who posts here occasionally; he calls himself Masaki. According to him, the Tokai brand pianos are well thought of in Japan. Tokai is also known for manufacturing high quality guitars and other musical instruments, although I don't think they make pianos anymore.

Hope this helps.

Rickster
