I am completely a beginner. I have started with the middle C. I think it is called the first hand position. I need some music scores to practice.

Do any of you know what I should start with and were to find it? I really don't want to spend money on it but If I have to I will.

Hi DragonLove,

Welcome to the forums. Nice name, by the way. laugh

If you can afford to get Alfred's Adult All in One book, it will provide you with music to play for some time. There are also threads on this book that you can post in for assistance with this book.

If you still want to learn with out spending money, you can look for some older piano method books.

Ferdinand Beyer Vorschule im Klavierspiel Opus 101 is one method book you could look into. www.imslp.org has a copy of it in English, German, and French.

You can also use Carl Czerny's etude books Opus 453 and 599. They can be used at the same time as they cover similar problems at the same time. Again, www.imslp.org has copies, but they are not the best.

These books are pretty darn dry, if you can find a way to get one of the more modern series, I'd recommend it. Considering that one book will probably take you anywhere from 6 months to a year to complete, music books are really a bargain.

Rich

I second getting the Alfred Adult Piano Course. Be sure to get the All-in-One Book so you can have the theory in one book. To practice more pieces, there's a lot of good and free sheet music for beginners at Gmajormusictheory Start with "First Pieces" then work your way up to "Primary Level," then Level One, Two, Three... Have fun in your piano journey wink I'm a beginner myself.
