Well, war is an annoyance, isn't it? Perhaps you'd rather be eating bratwurst—or would German cuisine be an improvement?

If it wasn't for what we brought over in '44 you'd be speaking Deutsch now, pal. Nicht wahr?

If it wasn't for the cheese eating surrender monkeys, you mean.

That doesn't even make sense. But neither does choosing to escalate from merely annoying to deliberately offensive.

Well of course! When we run out of money, we just print more. Simple.

I have no idea why you're telling me, nor why you injected war or personal wealth or national stereotypes into this discussion at all. Considering your aim seems always to be as cryptic as possible, I guess that's as it should be.

Homophobia is offensive and ignorant. Shame on you KK. I thought you were a gentleman. You have just earned a place on my ignore list.

Best regards,

Deborah

Gooddog ... cigarettes were once (and probably still in the UK) called "fags." I think KBK just likes to play. Which is cool with me. I actually think it's pretty funny.

I think kbk is referring to cigarettes.

Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and nuclear weapons.

Gooddog: British meaning of fag: [ok, I see it's been answered but I still think it's a neat picture]

Okay guys. I stand corrected and retract my barb at KK.

But I still think we all need to do our best to be culturally sensitive even if our similar languages have different vernacular.

Best regards,

Deborah

My goodness!!! That's why this forum is often times so much fun. It's not unlike my class of students. Light a sterno can with a simple sentence and watch the fun. Anyway, for the original reason, thanx again for the ideas. Actually it worked out with some direct communication (which is why it has lasted 36 years!) I made a schedule of practice times for him and he can choose to "endure" or run errands or whatever. But it gives him some control and choices and it gives me the freedom to practice as I should. Also will have the tuner voice the piano down at the next session. And now we return to the US vs the Brits cigarette war..........

Ahh, we can always count on PW for information and entertainment. I interpreted KK's statement the same way as gooddog. Understanding his true meaning, I am slightly less offended than I was previously.

This common thread of memory is wearing dangerously thin. Soon to be relegated to the dust bin of history eek.

Why don't you take your American and French bashing somewhere else?
