Can someone who has tuned one of these, tell me where the break between wound and plain strings is on a Sohmer Spinet piano? Thanks for your help.

I've probably tuned them, but not lately. I am dying to know why you ask!

Oh, I see, thanks. There are old US made Sohmers and newer Asian ones. They would not have the same scale. But maybe the newer ones are not spinets.

I do not think there was a Sohmer spinet. There was a console, but no spinet.

I worked on one last year. It was a nice little piano except for the plastic elbows!

I just saw one on Seattle Craigslist:

Bob,

I have to admit, replacing plastic elbows is a job I actually enjoy! The Sohmer we had last year had ivory keys and was really well built. Plastic parts do not equal poor quality piano.
